ACTOR COACHING

As an actress who has traversed various cultures and languages, I believe in the transformative power of storytelling. My coaching approach is rooted in empathy, precision, and a deep understanding of the human experience.

I specialize in preparing actors for drama and film school auditions, focusing on personalized scene analysis, emotional depth, and authentic character development. My approach is tailored to each individual’s strengths and aspirations. I work with beginning and advanced students for film, television, and theater acting.

I currently teach acting at the Barcelona Cinema School and Actors Studio, as well as privately. Previously I taught at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre BA Acting Program, MA Acting Program, BA Musical Theatre Program, supervised MA Final Practice-as-a-Research Project.

I studied with some of the most respected professionals in the industry, such as Steven Ditmyer (New York), Barry Primus (Los Angeles), prof. Derek Barnes (London), Joseph Bates (US), Jonathan Sidgwick (London), Sherrill Gow (London) to name a few.

I have an MA from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London and two BA degrees: from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, and “Agostino Steffani” Conservatoire of Castelfranco Veneto in Italy.

Being a working actress and after working for ten years as an educator, I have gained an extensive knowledge of what it takes to strengthen your acting skills and combine a variety of techniques honed for each student’s personal needs.

I work with actors on a private 1-2-1 basis, in-person and online on the following:

  • Preparation for castings & self-tapes
  • Preparing for film and theatre school entrance auditions
  • Scene study and ongoing practice of scenes and monologues
  • Script breakdown and scene Analysis
  • Acting Through Song (for Musical Theatre)

We can also work via Google Meets or Zoom remotely. This works well if you need private coaching, and you are based out of Barcelona.

Languages I work in: English, Lithuanian, Italian, Spanish.

I look forward to working with you!

Lotta Aakko, performing artist

“Monika is an amazing educator; after her lessons I got a role in a Netflix series, and I think everything is said with that. She explains things very clearly and understandably, communicates warmly, so the fear of making mistakes disappears, which helps to learn effectively and quickly. I am very grateful to her.”

Laura Butkute, actress

“It might take you 20 years to barely achieve what some people can do in a few months. Their shortcut is having a good mentor. But it’s hard to find one because great people only hang out with other great people.

We want to be great, we want to be seen, but we don’t know where to start. That, the ambiguity, is our worst enemy.

Monika led me out of that ambiguity. She provided me with resources so I could perfect the craft by myself. What she offered me goes further than an acting coach.

Whatever can be bought with money, is indeed a reasonable price.”
